4 Movies, 1 Weekend

Yes, you can call me a ‘filmatic’ if there is such a word. I watched 4 movies over the weekend. Yeah! What a life huh? I am going to give a quick review for each of them.

Let’s get the bad one out of the way. Wrong Turn is a horror film starring a group of young good-looking teenagers, which reminded me of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer series. I hate horror films. They don’t scare me and the storyline is so predictable. The reason I watched this film because I missed ‘2 Fast 2 Furious.’ Instead of wasting my time walking around the mall for two hours, I wasted my two hours on this movie; therefore, I am not going to waste my time writing a review for it.

Next, 2 Fast 2 Furious is very entertaining. The storyline is out the window once again. Why would a top dog drug dealer (Carter played by Cole Hauser) hire two racers to deliver his money for 100 Gs each? Isn’t it safer to deliver the money by himself since he is a drug dealer anyway? Beside the storyline the film pretty stands out with hot racing cars and sexy chicks. Racing scenes are great. Tyrese’s performance was quite good with charisma. Monica Fuentes is absolutely sexy. 2 Fast 2 Furious is an enjoyable film after all.

Pixar once again created a masterpiece for Finding Nemo. Wish I could watch this film in an Imax 3D Theater. It’s such an inspirational film with gorgeous colors and fantastic motion. The storyline is very cute also. I was thinking of Sammy the whole time. I will take her out to see this when I go home. She would love this movie. Man, the characters are so real that I felt in love with them. It’s such a pleasure movie.

Lastly, The Italian Job is not that bad. It’s funny and entertaining. Mar Wahlberg and Edward Norton performances are not that bad but they are not that great either. I like the computer genius played by Seth Green. He is so funny and the whole ‘Naspter’ thing is hilarious. It’s not a bad film at all.

PHP Books

I gave up on PHP Bible because my attention spans are very short. I got through 200 and some pages and it is about 700 more pages to finish the book. I began to get bored and lost. So I picked up Programming PHP and it is only 400 pages. Read the first two chapters and it is more concise and easier to read than the Bible. I am just going to keep the Bible for references

Favorite Quotes From 2pac

As you already know how much I love 2pac’s music. Here is my tribute to Pac. Not only I love the way he flows but his inspirational messages as well. Here are some of my favorite at this time:

And since we all came from a woman
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it’s time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don’t we’ll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies, that make the babies
And since a man can’t make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
So will the real men get up
I know you’re fed up ladies, but keep your head up

It’s All Good

I was pumping Thanh Thao’s remix album in my car on my way to work. Had my windows down and the bass was pumping in the trunk. People on the street gave me weird looks. They must be thinking, “What the hell is this guy listenning to?” I didn’t give a fuck. I can jam to whatever I want. It’s all good.

I was watching some of Doan Trang’s music video last night. She is mad cute and her voice is not that bad either.

Oriental Express

Meet Bamboo, a young hot Asian chic exposing her boobs to the public for free. She must got some balls (boobs) to do some shit like that. Hopefully, she’s the type of girl who doesn’t give a fuck what others think and do what she wants to do. I respect that. However, she looks more like an “Oriental Express” type where everybody get a piece. That’s not good at all. Oh well! Fuck it.

Moved

Spent my morning moved over to Keish’s office. I love it much better than mine. She had everything set up nicely so it’s much more organized with my stuff. On top of that, this office space will always remind me of my sweet friend. I also moved to a new apartment. It’s much bigger than the previous on and I have the whole studio to myself. Word up

Dodo Rocks

I have a lot of respect for Dodo’s programming skills. Not only she had written quite a few very useful php scripts, she also created many hacks for b2 weblog. The most useful one is the toggle of ‘read more’ script, which I use on this blog. Lately she had written ‘reply to comments’ and ‘comments links’ which works nicely but I don’t find them too useful. The ‘reply to comments’ is fantastic but you can’t really tell who is the latest commenter. The ‘Comment links’ is quite nice but it shows that the site’s owner just slaps up the links without even actually visiting the sites. It doesn’t show the owner’s effort to personally write down the links. Whenever I post a link on my site, I always make sure that site is worth visiting and not just slap a link on because someone commented on my site. As a commenter, I wouldn’t want my name to be part of that list. Why? I didn’t comment your site to get a link. I commented your site because I like what you wrote and not to get my site promoted. Anyhow, I still wish I had half of Dodo’s programming skills. Keep up the great work, girl.

Web Bloopers

Jeff Johnson’s Web Bloopers deserves a space on every web designer’s bookself. The design mistakes he pointed in this book are incredible. Better yet, the solutions he provided are valuable. This book could be place neck to neck with Steve Krug’s Don’t Make Me Think. This book is well-organized, readable and full of both negative and positive examples. It’s highly recommanded for web designers who want to create usable web sites. Specially those who only think the visual design is the only important aspect of web design.

Work vs. Personal

I find this post from Lele is really interesting and creative. If you follow my site daily, you can spot right away which statement is mine. When I first started this blogging thing, I was kind of holding back because this is my professional work overall. However, I began to receive emails from my co-workers as well as my family members saying that my site is an inspiration and my blogging is very touching. Even my boss finds it interesting. They have learned so much about me that they wouldn’t be able to learn from our daily interactions. I am glad that they can separate my professional work from my personal stuffs. With my current workload at Vassar, I am not looking for any freelance work so I really don’t give a fuck if my potential clients find this site offensive. It’s all good, baby.
