Capitol Hill sources are telling me that senior McCain people
are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held
a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as “disastrous.” One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, “What are we going to do?” The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is “clueless.”

The McCain campaign is fucked and they know it.

Good point, HmL and I like your formal boss’s comment: “McCain is the classic opportunist. He’s always reaching for attention and glory.” Being an opportunist he is, who knows if McCain is going to throw Palin off the bus once she is no good anymore, which is pretty soon, and bring someone else on board. He has been doing the unthinkable day by day.

The sky was rainy and gloomy and the traffic was jammed so we turned around to Ted’s Montana Grill for dinner. I had the burger and the beer deal and Dana had the sliders. The bison was not bad, but we didn’t like the kaiser bun. It was too soft and pasty. We split the burger and the sliders, but I ended up with three sliders and she had one. The sliders weren’t as tasty as Tonic‘s. We should have waited patiently through the traffic and went to Five Guys instead. At least we tried and I won’t want another burger for at least a month.

David Letterman busted McCain’s lie right on TV.

He can’t debate Barack Obama because he’s got to go to Washington and save the economy? It’s like the biggest ‘dog at my homework’ in history.

McCain is trying to postpone Palin’s debate by delaying his debate to take over her spot. He knows damn well Palin is an idiot. The CBS interview is a proof.

McCain seeks to delay Friday’s debate using the economic crisis as an excuse. Obama doesn’t back down and the University of Mississippi wants to go forward. If McCain wants to “solve” the economic crisis, let him do it. Meanwhile, let Palin substitutes him.

In last Sunday interview with CNBC, McCain lied about his campaign manager, Rick Davis, regarding to Davis’s involvement with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. McCain said that Davis “has had nothing to do with it since, and I’ll be glad to have his record examined by anybody who wants to look at it.” New York Times jumped on the case and reported:

One of the giant mortgage companies at the heart of the credit crisis paid $15,000 a month from the end of 2005 through last month to a firm owned by Senator John McCain’s campaign manager, according to two people with direct knowledge of the arrangement.

McCain might have to fire his campaign manager to cover up his lie.

CNN‘s Campbell Brown calls out the McCain campaign for covering up Palin as if she’s “a delicate flower that will wilt at any moment.” Damn right, let the vice president candidate speaks for herself.

Just a thought. I think Brown should conduct an interview with Palin. That would be fantastic. I am sure we’ll learn a lot more about Palin.
