Oriental Express

Meet Bamboo, a young hot Asian chic exposing her boobs to the public for free. She must got some balls (boobs) to do some shit like that. Hopefully, she’s the type of girl who doesn’t give a fuck what others think and do what she wants to do. I respect that. However, she looks more like an “Oriental Express” type where everybody get a piece. That’s not good at all. Oh well! Fuck it.

Moved

Spent my morning moved over to Keish’s office. I love it much better than mine. She had everything set up nicely so it’s much more organized with my stuff. On top of that, this office space will always remind me of my sweet friend. I also moved to a new apartment. It’s much bigger than the previous on and I have the whole studio to myself. Word up

Dodo Rocks

I have a lot of respect for Dodo’s programming skills. Not only she had written quite a few very useful php scripts, she also created many hacks for b2 weblog. The most useful one is the toggle of ‘read more’ script, which I use on this blog. Lately she had written ‘reply to comments’ and ‘comments links’ which works nicely but I don’t find them too useful. The ‘reply to comments’ is fantastic but you can’t really tell who is the latest commenter. The ‘Comment links’ is quite nice but it shows that the site’s owner just slaps up the links without even actually visiting the sites. It doesn’t show the owner’s effort to personally write down the links. Whenever I post a link on my site, I always make sure that site is worth visiting and not just slap a link on because someone commented on my site. As a commenter, I wouldn’t want my name to be part of that list. Why? I didn’t comment your site to get a link. I commented your site because I like what you wrote and not to get my site promoted. Anyhow, I still wish I had half of Dodo’s programming skills. Keep up the great work, girl.

Web Bloopers

Jeff Johnson’s Web Bloopers deserves a space on every web designer’s bookself. The design mistakes he pointed in this book are incredible. Better yet, the solutions he provided are valuable. This book could be place neck to neck with Steve Krug’s Don’t Make Me Think. This book is well-organized, readable and full of both negative and positive examples. It’s highly recommanded for web designers who want to create usable web sites. Specially those who only think the visual design is the only important aspect of web design.

Vivian and Emily

Check out my little nieces from Canada. Aren’t they adorable or what? You gals are so cute and I can’t wait to see ya. Uncle Donny loves ya.

Site Update

New photos from Vassar 2003 Commencement project. Don’t know why there are mostly ladies in the photos. I didn’t do that on purpose.

Congratulations, Donny!

Woohoo! I got a raise from Vassar. This is really exciting. I will continue to create clean, attractive, usable, accessible and easy-to-maintain websites for Vassar. On top of that, I will continue to push Vassar moving toward web standards using CSS and XHTML.

Wish Keish was still here.

Invasion Part 2

I love battle lyrics. They show how skillful an MC really is. DJ Green Lantern’s Invasion Part 2 features battle tracks between Em and Ja. Damn! Em got his whole squad (50 Cents, D12) and even Busta on Ja. Em uses Pac’s ‘Hail Mary’ disses Ja and Irv Gotti. “You ain’t no killer, you’re a pussy. That ecstasy got you all emotionally moushy. Bitches wearin’ rags in photos. Ja’s words bein’ quoted in the Source, stealin’ Pac’s shit like he just wrote it.” I also love the part from ‘Bump Heads’ where Em says, “That X, got him thinkin’ he was DMX. Then he switched to ‘Pac now he’s tryin’ to be him next. So which one are you? X, Luther, Pac or Michael.” Ja verse wasn’t bad either. He freestyles, “Em, you claimed your mother’s a crackhead and Kim’s a known slut. So what’s Hailie gonna be when she grows up.” Ja also calls Em a “Feminem.” It’s funny to hear Em comes back with Hailie asks, “Dad, is Ja Rule taller than me?” Em replies, “No honey, you guys are the same size.”

So who wins? No doubt, Em crushed Ja. I really respect his lyrical skills. However, the best MC battle is still Pac. He was the realist. It’s unbelievable how much shit rappers steal from Pac these days. It’s such a shame. If he was still here, none of this shit would happen. He is still my favorite hiphop artist and his legacy lives one.

Bye Keisha

Oh Keish! What can I say? I am going to miss you like crazy. You’ve been such a wonderful friend. I love all the moments we shared. Go out to eat, go to the movies, cook at your place, and share stories about our families. I have so much fun being around you and thanks for listening. You’re the one that I can really open up to. This job has brought you to me and I am thankful for that. Things will not be the same when you are not around anymore. You had made it really enjoyable. I admire your design skill, adore your personality, and love your cooking. You’re such a talented individual and I’ve learned so much from you. Please keep in touch with me wherever you go. I do not want our friendships to fade because of the passing of time. I will always remember you.

Love
Donny

Praise

Wow, I am overwhelmed by all the compliments from Thuy Nga’s forum on my motion graphic piece for Don Ho. To answer all the confusions, I am just a fan of Don Ho. The piece I created was inspired by the little intro from his ‘Hoi Tiec’ album. The text was taken from Ngoc Lan Musique’s album “Nhung Loi Me Hoac.” It was written by Ngoc Lan. I thought the text and the music complimented each other that why I used them. I showed the piece to Don Ho and he was very pleased with it. We even talked about “Nhung Loi Me Hoac” album. He worked with Ngoc Lan on that album without any commissions. He also commented on how sweet and unique Ngoc Lan was. He didn’t like the album a whole lot but I love that album. Ngoc Lan and Don Ho are a perfect combination. They both have good hearts. Don is such a wonderful guy and I support him all the way, even though his latest albums, Phien Da Sau and Tinh Khuc Trinh Cong Son, are rather disappointing. However, his graphic design for both cds are absolutely beautiful. This guy really has the eye for art. I can’t wait to see his own site. It’s a completely different ball game from print to web.
