No Health Record

Fifteen days before the election, New York Times finds that:

Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, 44, Mr. McCain’s running mate, has released no medical information.

Read the entire piece for detailed information on John McCain’s history of melanoma.

Paolo

Is anyone else as astound as I am with Paolo? According to Asia’s little introduction, he has been singing for quite a while, probably at the same time as Elvis Phuong, Thanh Lan or Tuan Ngoc, yet I have hardly heard of him. I remember seeing him in a few Asia videos even though his appearances were brief or unannounced. Asia finally puts him on the spot light next to Thanh Lan on its latest video Asia 59 – Bon Mua 2. He has a great voice as well as a great charisma of his own. I keep rewinding back to the beginning segment of “Delilah” to see him does his karate to the beat. The man is simply awesome.

Star Endorses Obama

Kansas City Star:

Despite his age and previous health problems, McCain chose a vice presidential candidate who is so clearly unqualified for high office that the thought of her stepping into the presidency is frightening.

That irresponsible decision casts serious doubt on McCain’s judgment at this point in his political career. And over the past eight years, Americans have come to know, all too well, the high price of carelessness and ineptitude in the White House.

Michigan Chronicle Endorses Obama

Michigan Chronicle

Obama, not yet in the U.S. Senate, then opposed the war at rallies in Illinois, calling it a “dumb war.” If a little-known senator without the so-called experience Washington lawmakers are always rushing to tout as a credential, could get it right on Iraq and the self-acclaimed veteran senators like McCain got it wrong, it shows us that good judgment is lacking inside the Beltway.

Times Record Endorses Obama

Times Record:

Electing Barack Obama would demonstrate that America is better than the way our government has conducted the people’s business during the last eight years. It would repudiate outside claims that this nation has become a hypocritical, floundering empire and affirm that we remain a civilization founded on opportunity, equality and each person’s freedom to fulfill his or her promise.

McCain served our parents well. Obama will serve our children better.

Sun-Times Endorses Obama

Chicago Sun-Times:

Sen. McCain is an American hero. His courage as a prisoner of war and his 26 years on Capitol Hill command our respect. Anybody who happened to notice him struggle to shake hands with moderator Bob Schieffer at the end of the third debate had to be moved.

But somewhere along the line, McCain stopped being McCain. The maverick who always thought for himself turned his thinking over to others. He cared too much about winning.

He reversed his position on major social issues to curry favor with the Republican base. He pulled silly surprises from a hat, such as “suspending” his campaign. Most egregiously for a man of advanced age who knew how important this decision could be, he chose the unqualified Gov. Sarah Palin to be his vice president.

Barack Over Hillary

Lawrence Lessig gives an informative presentation on why he supported Barack over Hillary. He broke down his talk into three factors: character, integrity, and what each candidate would do. The slideshow is a bit painful to watch, but the content is rewarding.

Lunch With Friends

I had a great pleasure of meeting anh Trong and chi Ha for the first time as well as anh Hai once again. Over “bo Nuong vi,” “lau do bien” and “ca kho to” at Viet Royale, we had a fantastic time together.

Anh Trong who has written “McCain vs. Obama” is a fascinating man. He is very articulated and not afraid to speak out his opinion—something we have in common. In his own word: “I see in you a younger self with a bit of bravado about your opinions on music, and now, politics.” If you want to learn about the financial market, anh Trong is the guy to talk to. His wife is also a very nice lady. It’s true that behind every successful man is a woman. I have to learn from their experience on how to raise kids effectively with both languages.

As for anh Hai, he is not only my buddy but my wife’s as well. We have met several times already over lunch and bun mam. Anh Hai is a very humble man and we have always enjoyed his company. Through him, I have a chance to meet some wonderful folks as well, like his sweet sister and chi Minh Nguyet. Where is our man Ducster?

Come to think about it. Visualgui.com has given me opportunities to meet some fine individuals that I wouldn’t have met other wise. Someday I hope to meet everyone who has been here frequently. Thu Hoai and I clicked instantly after we met and she sang at my wedding. I almost get a chance to see Joseph, but the timing didn’t work out. If you come to DC again, holler at me as soon as you get here. TTBlue promised me he’ll make some banging “bo luc lac” when I go to Seattle. I still hold you on that one, man.

PS: My wife just reminded me that I also met the love of my life through Visualgui.com and we have married for five months. Wow, five months already? That was fast.

McCain’s Robocall Hypocrisy

McCain hired the robo calls that were used against him to attack Obama. Even Fox News called him out. The old, low scumbag is losing his mind as well as dignity.

Call me an Obama freak all you want, but McCain is too much of a bigot to be a president.
