Part 1: Introduction and Ski Drills
- Intro, learn names
- Check for any boot pain
- Go over the equipment
- Explain athletic stance
- Boot exercises
- One ski
- Both skis
Part 2: Sliding
- Straight runs
- Gliding wedge
- Braking wedge
- Repeat until they can stop at will and be safe
Part 3 – Up the Lift and First Turns
- Riding chairlift
- First Turns
- Coach, coach, coach (stance, looking ahead, hands in front of hips, knees/ankles flexed shin to tongue)
- J-Turns, link turns, ski to bottom
- Use terrain-based features when available
- Summarize and debrief
