Typography Books for Beginners

September 16, 2014

Last night, a student told me that she needs to work on her typography. She transferred to Mason from another school and wasn’t taught on the basics. She asked me what books should she read for learning typography. I immediately recommended Ellen Lupton’s Thinking With Type or Denise Bosler’s Mastering Type: The Essential Guide to Typography for Print and Web Design. In fact, read both because they are excellent.
